Thomas Rominske

Thomas E. "Tom" Rominske, age 85, of Lake Tomahawk, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2012 at his home. He was born on December 18, 1926, in Butternut, Wisconsin, the son of Otto and Frieda (Teschner) Rominske. His early life and schooling were in Butternut. Tom was married exactly 63 years to the day to Olive Hatfield in Glidden, Wisconsin on September 3, 1949. He was employed at Foremost Dairies in Appleton and retired 30 years ago when he and Olive moved to Lake Tomahawk to enjoy the great outdoors. He was an avid sportsman, fisherman and hunter. He also enjoyed gardening; travel – including many fishing trips to Canada; camping and campfires; outdoor grilling/cooking. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor. Tom will be greatly missed by his wife, the love of his life, Olive of Lake Tomahawk; four daughters, Marion (Rick) Gorges of Appleton, WI, Beverly Rohlfs of Spring Hill, FL, Darlene (Bob) Howard of Hollywood, FL, Nyna Sperlongo of Coral Springs, FL; ten grandchildren, Melissa, Christina, Stephanie, Ryan, Christopher, Justin, Thomas, David, Joseph and Michael; three great-grandchildren, Emily, Hailey and Ava. He is further survived by one brother, Lynn Rominske of Butternut; one sister, Stella Bremer of Fairfield Bay, Ark.; two half-sisters, Bonnie Wartgow of Butternut, Carol Fischer of Princeton; four step-sisters, Opal Smetak of Park Falls, Millie (Ted) Masters of East Leroy, MI, Donna Gropp of Park Falls and Margie Thune of Green Lake; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Jeffrey Thomas; his parents, Otto and Frieda, and his step-mother, Louise Rominske; five brothers, Fred, John, Raymond, Harvey and Peter Rominske; a sister, Vitula Borowski, a step-brother, Herbert Morford; and three step-sisters, Florence Wallner, Viola Crum and Pat Szymik. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 PM on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Bolger Funeral Home- Woodruff Chapel with Pastor Maxine Gray officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Glidden, WI. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in Tom's name. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Ministry Dr. Kate Hospice team for their kindness and compassionate care, Dr. Linda, Seale, and the wonderful friends and neighbors of Tom and Olive that have been there to lend their help and support- Terry and Ann, Jim and Kris, Jessica and Todd and Dave and Carol.
