Sandra M. Granger

On Sunday, July 3, 2022, Sandy Marie Granger passed away. She was surrounded by family: her husband, son, daughter-in-law and grandson. “Sandy”, as known by her family and friends, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin to her family and was cherished by many friends. Sandra Marie Szczepkowski was born on October 03, 1951 to Paul and Agnes “Aggie” (Sorsak) Szczepkowski, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Sandy grew up in Greendale, Wisconsin, her hometown and attended Greendale High School where she graduated in 1969. She was employed at Delco Electronics/General Motors in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for 30 years, from 1978 until she retired in 2008. She met her husband John while employed at Delco, and they were married on March 14, 1989. They bought their first home in South Milwaukee and lived there for 21 years. Sandy became a mother to her only son, Ryan Paul Regent, on March 5, 1976. Before her retirement, Sandy’s greatest passion was her legacy, her son Ryan. She was a wonderful, loving, compassionate, caring, and hardworking mother as well as a great role model. They had a very close and loving relationship and enjoyed summer vacations to Disney World and several other areas over the years. Sandy truly loved being a mother. Sandy loved collecting Goofy Disney character figurines as well as Hallmark ornaments. Her favorite flowers were daisies, and she had a passion for cooking elaborate meals for her family. Sandy enjoyed bowling and a social life with her friends, but her favorite hang out person was her own mother, Aggie, whom she had a close relationship with. She was also a Brewers fan and a fanatic Packers fan. Her greatest high life was meeting Donald Driver and helping him purchase a car at a dealership she was employed at after her retirement, a dealership he later purchased. After retiring to the Northwoods, Sandy enjoyed fishing with her husband on their pontoon as well as dining out and entertaining with her friends and family that visited over the years. In her relaxing time, Sandy enjoyed crocheting which she made beautiful items, especially the dollies. She enjoyed the love of her grandchildren and enjoyed spoiling them. She was a loving and compassionate grandma and her grandchildren gave her a lot of joy over the last five years. Sandy also loved her dogs, Lacy, Colby and Emmett, like they were her children. She would often joke with Ryan that they were his brothers. Sandy spent time communicating through Facebook with several friends and family, keeping up with their lives and being there to support them with kind words or prayers. She was a thoughtful, loving, kind, compassionate, giving, and sincere person. Sandy has touched so many lives and will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her. Our family would like to thank you all, whether family or friends, for loving Sandy as much as we did and for touching her life in your own special way. Sandy was preceded in death by her father Paul, mother Aggie, and sister-in-law Dawn (Wienhold) Szczepkowski. She is survived by her husband John; son Ryan Regent; daughter-in-law Diane Regent; grandson Grayson; great-grandson Paul MacDonald; brother Bill Szczepkowski; nieces Becky (Juan) Magallon and Erin (Javon) Campbell; as well as several great nieces and nephews, cousins, and other family members. Per Sandy’s wishes, cremation will be handled by Bolger Funeral Home in Woodruff, Wisconsin. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Cornerstone Church on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 10:00 AM. The church is located at 354 N. Oakwood (#2866), Oconomowoc, Wisconsin 53066. A Luncheon Fellowship will follow shortly after the service. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the family to assist with the service and burial costs.
