Robert "Terry" Lee

Robert "Terry" Tarence Lee age 74, passed away suddenly on May 16, 2015. Terry was born in Tomahawk, WI to Robert Sheldon Lee and Dorothy Mae Knuth. He was a life long resident of Minocqua. He was in the first graduating class of Lakeland Union High School in 1958 and a member of the high school ski team. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959-1962 in the 148th Transportation Company, "The Chopper Doctors", in Nelligan Germany. He became a member of the Minocqua Police Dept. in 1965. Terry was known for walking the beat throughout his 28 year career. He was a Sergeant and eventually named Chief of Police in 1993. Terry was instrumental in starting many programs within the police force; liaison officer at the high school, boat patrol, 911 system, K-9 Unit and so much more. He also was a volunteer for many organizations. He was in the ski patrol at Squirrel Hill, he was on the Harley Davidson Snowmobile Test Team with the headquarters at Bonneau's Harbor (Lakeside Landing), Minocqua Fire Department Member, Deputize Warden with the DNR, area horse club Horsewise, Minocqua Musky Hunt. He loved hunting and fishing with his family and friends. Spending time with his horses in the pasture. Many trips cross country on his Honda Goldwing & hunting trips to Colorado with his horses. Terry loved to tell a good story as he had many from all of the adventures. He is survived by his Wife, Connie, Children, Donna Lee-Ryan (Randy), Dick Lee (Karen) and Terri Howard (Greg); 6 Grandchildren, Kyle Howard (Katie), Kent Howard (Jenny), Abby Lee, Jamie Lee, Niki Lee and Bobby Lee; 3 Great Grand Children, Kallen Howard, Kennedy Howard and Maggie Howard; 2 Sisters, Karen Johnson and Jackie Ridderbush and several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Lee and sister, Lucy Kempka. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 21st from 5:00-8:00 pm and Friday, May 22nd from 9:00-11:00 am at Ascension Lutheran Church in Minocqua with Funeral Services at 11:00 am. Interment with military honors will follow at Minocqua Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the family and will be donated to the Minocqua Rescue Squad, K-9 Unit, Police and Fire Departments.
