Philip G. Davison

Philip George Davison, age 86, died peacefully with his family at his side at Milestone Assisted Living in Woodruff, Wisconsin, on March 25, 2017, of complications related to Lewy Body Dementia. Phil was born October 2, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois, to George and Dorothy Davison. In May of 1954 Phil married Lorraine Millies of Hillside, Illinois. They built their home on Forest Avenue in Hillside, raised four children and lived there for 46 years until retiring to Minocqua, WI in 2001. In Minocqua, Phil and Lorraine are active members of Peace Lutheran Church in Arbor Vitae. Following graduation from Proviso East high school in Maywood, Phil served 4 years in the Navy as an electrician on the USS Braine. His naval service was a lifelong source of pride and identity for Phil as he and Lorraine attended numerous USS Braine reunions over the years. Phil worked for 36 years as an installer/repairman for Illinois Bell Telephone/AT&T. In his off hours he took great pride in his home, yard and a job well done. He looked forward to family vacations at the lake where he and Lorraine eventually built their retirement home. Phil is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine, and their four children- Kathy Davison (Fred Boyd) of Phoenix; Marc (Laurie) Davison of Madison, WI; Greg Davison of Green Bay and Karen (Tom) Sperling of Trevor, Wisconsin. Phil’s grandchildren are Anna Davison of Mt. Prospect, IL, Ellen (Ryan) Farrell of Bentonville, Arkansas, Nick Davison of Denver, Tim and Luke Davison of Madison, Wisconsin; Lauren, Gilliane, Creston and Kieran Davison of Sturgeon Bay, WI and Logan, Ryan and Olivia Sperling of Trevor, Wisconsin . Phil is also survived by his sister Barbara Nendze (August) of Elgin, Illinois. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Peace Lutheran Church in Arbor Vitae, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. A Funeral Service will also be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hillside, IL, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Hillside, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church of Arbor Vitae, WI; HYF – Dr. Kate Hospice, P.O.
