Dorothy Schorr

Dorothy H. Schorr passed away on July 24, 2012 at the Avanti Health and Rehabilitation Center after suffering from renal failure and congestive heart failure. Dorothy was born November 5, 1924 in Lyndon Township to Herman and Bertha (Fuss) Blank. She moved to Madison from Mauston in 1954 then to St. Germain in 2005. Dorothy was a long time member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary Post 501, the Eagles Club, Kayra XYZ and the North Eastside Coalition of Older Adults. After moving to St. Germain she became a member of the Primetimers and the Shipmates and she also volunteered her spare time at the UCC Thrift Shop. She devoted much of her retirement years doing volunteer work for these organizations after retiring from many years of service working as a bartender. Dorothy loved working with her flowers, knitting, playing cribbage or any other card games, helping others, playing games, picnics and spending time with family and friends. In her younger years she also enjoyed dancing and shooting pool. Dorothy wishes that you don't mourn her passing but to remember all the good deeds she had done. She is survived by her children: Maxine (Conroy) Madden of Panama City, FL, Ron Meden of Baraboo, WI, Robert (Teri) Meden of Poynette, WI, Rhonda Coker and good friend Jim Austin of St. Germain; step-children, Beverly Schorr, Barbara (Rocky) Barnes, Joe Schorr and Karl (Becky) Schorr. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris Southworth of New Lisbon and Special in-laws, Helen Ritter, Rosemary (Francis) McMahon, Carl (Janice) Schorr and Warner (Joan) Schorr. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Leonard Meden, Vernon Post and Albert Schorr; two sons, Richard Meden and Glen Post; grandson, Richard Madden; four sisters, Lorraine Kulikowski, LaVerne Greenwood, Grace Sebronek and Audrey Morris and two brothers, Gerald M. Blank and Daniel Corr. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Community United Church of Christ, Hwy 155 St. Germain. A luncheon will be held following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Rest in peace and know that you will be loved and missed by all that knew you.
