Dennis Flann

Dennis Michael Flann, "Denny", 71 of Lac du Flambeau died April 11, 2012 at Ministry-St. Clare's Hospital in Weston surrounded by family, following an unexpected stroke on April 1, 2012. Dennis was born on April 13, 1940 in Milwaukee, WI to Arnold and Emma (Reinholz) Flann. He married the love of his life, Carol (Christopherson) on September 25, 1966. Together they raised their five children in New Berlin, WI until Dennis retired from AO Smith Corporation in Milwaukee and moved to the beloved Northwood's. There he would spend all his vacations. First camping with the kids then purchasing an old rustic cabin. On that land he built a home to enjoy as he aged. Dennis loved the cabin and spent many hours fixing it up. He enjoyed having family and friends up to visit. Many nights he spent sitting around a campfire, telling stories and making everyone laugh. Dennis loved God, nature and animals which was observed in his tender heart. Many days you would find him tending to his huge garden, taking care of his little rabbit farm or sitting out on his deck singing with the birds. Everyone that knows Dennis knew how much he loved music and singing. He had an amazing voice. His other talents included wood working, drawing and painting. Dennis can be best remembered for his uncanny ability to make someone smile and laugh. He loved to tell jokes and goof around. Also a favorite time of his was deer hunting with friends and family Dennis is survived by his wife Carol (Christopherson); his children Kim (Michael) Olsen; Jeffery (Kim), Dawn Flann, Bryon, Jason (Amber) and David (Mercedes). He is further survived by his grandchildren, Gabrielle, Terra, Noah, Wyatt, Nash and Ethan. His sister Sharon (Kenny) Schreck, a brother Arnold (Julia), and sister Susie (Pat) Olson. Also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews, whom he loved to tease and have a good time with. He was preceded in death by both parents, a sister Heidi Foley-Hickey. A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 21, 2012 at 3 PM at the Kingdom Hall in Woodruff, WI. with a gathering of friends and family at the Hall from 1:30 to the time of service on Saturday. Dennis chooses not to be remembered by tears, but to be remembered with laughter and fun memories of him joking and goofing around with each and every one of his family and friends
