Delores Sconzert

Delores E. Sconzert, 82, of Arbor Vitae passed away at her home on Friday March 16, 2012. She is survived by three children; Dr. Alan (Sue) Sconzert of Lake Charles, LA; Christopher (Debbie) Sconzert of Merrill, WI; and Deb (Mitch) Eisen of Sturgeon Bay, WI. thirteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; two brothers Jim (Pat) Unertl of Minocqua and Timothy (Diane) Unertl of Milwaukee; three sisters Carol (Tom) Wilger of Green Bay; Nancy Wiederhoeft of Wausau and Linda (Don) Eggebrecht of Green Bay. Delores is further survived by two daughter in laws Mary Sconzert of Fayetteville, AR and Ginnie Sconzert of Chili, WI; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William, three sons, Bruce, Francis and Everitt; a sister Betty and a brother Dick. A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday March 20, 2012 at 11 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Woodruff with a visitation one hour prior at the church. Interment will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to the National Kidney Foundation. She was born a daughter, a granddaughter, a niece, a cousin , and a sister. She would become a friend, a best friend, a girlfriend, a wife, a mother, an aunt, a grandmother, a widow and eventually a great grandmother. Preceeded in death by her parents, a sister, and a brother. The deepest grief of burying three sons. Prematurely widowed by the sudden loss of the love of her life . Delores….. of the sorrows. But so much joy she spread to so many. An open home and a n open heart. Devoted to family. One mother and one father. Three brothers and four sisters. One husband FOREVER. In sickness and health. In sorrow and joy. In body and soul. Five sons and a daughter. Seven grandsons and six granddaughters. Six Greatgandsons and five greatgranddaughters. Nieces and nephews more than fingers and toes. Cousins in every direction the wind blows. Friends afar and friends so near. Friends to share sorrow and friends to share cheer. Her life was rich in so many textures. Born in Dancy Wisconsin, then to Schofield, then to Wausau. Denver Colorado to Springfield Massachusetts to Springfield Illinois. Rapid City South Dakota to Blytheville Arkansas to Warner Robins Georgia. Isabella Puerto Rico to Ramey Puerto Rico. Wichita Falls Texas to Fort Worth Texas. Back to Wausau Wisconsin then to Arbor Vita. 82 years and 2 weeks A devoted enthusiastic member of the Catholic church. Catholic Mother of the year 1964. Volunteering throughout her life. Cub scouts, baseball, PTA, glee club, swim team, at the church, at the hospital (35 years at Howard Young Medical Center) She loved to dance. She loved to sing. She loved to fish with Bill. She loved the pleasure of the view from her porch on the lake. She was a madcap of the redhats with so much enthusiasm. LeeAnn wrote "your ability to handle each challenge with grace, your unremitting kindness to everyone and your wonderful sense of humor" Another friend told me " she stood up for me when others were telling lies" She liked owls and loons. She loved every baby ever presented to her. She would not tolerate hypocracy. But she believed in second chances and redemption. I have seen her pick wild berries in the mountains of Colorado, at the roadside in rural Wisconsin, and in snake infested Louisiana. She had a tremendous capacity to love. She bonded deeply. Her essence added dimension to so many lives. Ron said " I remember the first time I came to your house. Your mother said " A friend of my son is always welcome in my home" and that's the way it's always been" On of her physicians told me " She was truly special. She was one of those people who believe. She went out of her way to make the world a better place." Do not grieve for Delores. She is full of joy. She is now enjoying eternity.
