Susan R. Cagle

January 16, 2022

Susan R. Cagle (Graebel) passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 16th, 2022. Her last hours were spent in the company of family, with all their love surrounding her. Having grown up at Dairymen’s Country Club in Boulder Junction WI, Susan lived her life quietly in the small community, making it her lifelong home. She attended LUHS in Minocqua WI, where she met and married the love of her life, Donald S. Cagle. Susan and Don were together close to 70 years, and they cherished each other and the family they built, making that the focus of their lives. Susan was a shy, quiet person who had a heart for kindness to everyone. Everyone who met her could see the extraordinary kindness she lived with. Her kindness extended to anyone, and all the way to animals too. She loved animals of every kind, and they were the focus of most of her artwork. While her family was her happiness, she also had a passion for art. A true artist, she created beautiful pieces of artwork throughout her lifetime. She worked in many mediums ranging from painting, carving, stained glass and more, but she is most well known for being the painting ½ of ‘Warrens Originals’ in earlier years. In later years her deer antler carvings became her favorite and many can be found gracing shelves throughout the Northwoods area homes. Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Donald S. Cagle and her parents, Warren and Ruth Graebel. She is survived by her brother, Brian (Christine) Graebel; her son, Timothy (Jamie) Cagle; and her daughter Cindy (Jack) Dunbar. The family will honor her memory in a private gathering this spring. If anyone would like to join in honoring her memory, please donate to a local animal shelter. Kindness to the animals is the perfect way Susan would want to be remembered by.
