Ruth J. Blaisdell

Ruth Josephine (nee Wierichs) Blaisdell entered her eternal life on December 1, 2018 Ruth was born December 17, 1927 to George Louis and Anna Mary (nee Schroeder) Wierichs in Conover Wis Ruth attended Conover grade school, walking 1 1/2 miles with her siblings, to a one room school house on Chicago Ave in Conover She attended Eagle River high school & Nicolet College graduating as a Certified CNA Ruth worked picking potatoes on potato farms in Conover Worked at Milo Lodge & Wildcat Lodge in Boulder Junction & Crews' Cabins in Land O Lakes. Worked on the Boulder Junction election board for many years. She worked at HYMC as a CNA. Mostly, Ruth was a 'stay at home mom' when her children were young. Ruth was a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #451 (1957) serving as president, secretary and treasurer throughout the years. Marion Marsh and Ruth were honored at a party honoring them for their years of service by Unit & Post #451 on May 2, 2018 Ruth also was a charter member of the Boulder Junction Area Historical Society & a Girl Scout & 4H leader Was a member of St Anne's Catholic Church, singing in the choir, being a member of the Alter Society and the cemetery board. Ruth loved polka dancing and was occasionally on channel 12 polka dance. She loved dancing to polka music when her brothers: Louis & Jim sang with the band. She loved the Christmas season, skiing and skating, she was a great cook especially her soups & desserts. Ruth & her husband, Chuck, acted in several 'stunt night'skits in the 60's. She even drove a stock car in a Eagle River race on a dare. Ruth is survived by her daughters, Josie (Rodger) Allen, Joy Ann (Melvin) Johanek and Jayne Blaisdell of Boulder Junction; grandchildren, Benita (Shane) Wyzlic of Saxon, WI, Wayne (Jeneane) of Sayner and Chuck of Boulder Junction; great grandchildren, Lisa, Zach, Charlie, Anna and Micah and brother, James Wierichs of Eagle River. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Blaisdell; son, Jack F.C. Blaisdell; brothers, George and Louis and sisters, Louise, Frances, Anna, Genieve and Elizabeth. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 PM on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Bolger Funeral Home – Minocqua Chapel, 212 W. Chicago Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 7, 2018 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Boulder Junction, with visitation one hour prior to the Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given the family for a memorial fund that will be established.
