Gayle A Gammon

Gayle Ann (Moulton) Gammon was born into her Heavenly life surrounded by her loving family at Season of Life Hospice On November 9, 2013. Gayle was born the first child of Leonard and Cecelia (Stellplug) Moulton on March 8, 1937. She was called to be a registered nurse and took her training at St. Francis School of Nursing in LaCrosse, WI where she met the love of her life, David Gammon. The two were married on August 25, 1959. While on their honeymoon at Trout Lake, they fell in love with the place they have called home for 47 years. Gayle devoted her life to nursing. She spent countless hours caring for those in need, whether in the hospital, nursing home or tending to others who needed her in their personal lives. Gayle (Gabby to those who loved her) loved spending her time fishing in Canada, golfing with her buddies, and time spent with family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who said that “family was her greatest treasure.” Gayle is survived by: husband David L. Gammon and 4 daughters; Lori L. Gammon of Madison, Lisa G (Bruce) Olson of Coon Valley, Lynn A (Matthew) Gammon Bakalars of Oshkosh, and Lana R.G. (Todd) Buchner of Holmen, six beloved grandchildren; David (Danielle) Curti, Grant (Anna) Olson, Kyle Olson, Jay Olson, Elizabeth Buchner, and Sam Buchner. She is also survived by siblings; Jack (Esther) Moulton of Minocqua, Carol “Trink” (Wayne) Gunderson of Winona, Sue (Darryl) Thompson of Rochester, Chris (Jim) Leavitt, and In Laws Dr. Jim (Sherri) Gammon, Barb LeVigne, Carol (Merlin) Gammon Hamburg and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, and her in laws. Her family would like to give special thanks to the entire staff at Season of Life Hospice House who gave support and care to help us through these very difficult two weeks. To say it best in the words of a grandson, David, “I’m going to eat just the tip of the piece of pie, retell stories, I’m going to sit on the basement step and sneak a cigarette, I’m going to talk too much, I’m going to steal the best present at Christmas, borrow my daughter’s shirt and forget to give it back and so many other wonderful memories.” We will miss her; she was one of a kind. A memorial service will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Woodruff on Tuesday November 12, 2013 at 11 AM. A lunch will follow. A memorial gathering will be one hour prior the service at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family.
