May 11, 1925 - December 7, 2019
Everett “Ozzie” Anderson, 1925 – 2019. His life was well lived and he was well loved! He passed away at home under hospice care, with his family by his side on Saturday, 7 December in his 94th year. This gentle, loving, caring and wonderful man has left a permanent mark etched on our hearts and will be supremely missed by his family, his wife, Beatrice (Koplein) and his children Mary Ross-Steer (Andrew Steer and the late Mike Ross), Mark Anderson (Robin Cooper) and Lynn Anderson. He was the proud grandfather to Christopher Ross (Tanya Chin) and Ian Ross. And great grandfather to Tommy and Sydney Ross. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Alma (Rasmussen) Anderson and sister, Inez (Anderson) Dishno. Ozzie was a quiet and kind gentleman with a quick wit and a friendly comment for everyone. He grew up in Waupaca, Wisconsin. At age 17 he lied about his age so he could enlist in the US Navy. After the war, he returned to high school to finish his schooling. He was proud to be a veteran and was actively involved in the American Legion, Post 89. He served as a commander and a member of the Honor Guard. His grandsons accompanied him on the Honor Flight to Washington DC. Ozzie worked in Milwaukee after the war but he moved to Minocqua with the family in 1958 to work at Bassett Auto and then Matz Motors before starting his own business, Ozzie’s Custom Construction. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting and spending time with his friends at the hunting shack. He and Bea were talented dancers (jive was their specialty). He was a talented craftsman and loved spending time in his workshop. Ozzie had a long standing relationship with God and was very blessed with his faith to his dying breath. Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate his life and find comfort that he is in Heaven watching over us. The family would like to thank all the health care professionals from Ministry Home Care, and in lieu of flowers we would ask that if so inclined, please make donations to Ministry Home Care or Trinity School in his name. Visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 on Monday, December 16, followed by a service at 11:00 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church on Brunswick Road, Minocqua.
