Barbara J. Oppasser

November 30, 1932 - February 13, 2022

Barbara J. Oppasser was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother (Bamma), great grandmother, sister and friend. She passed away February 13, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born November 30, 1932 in Chicago, IL, the eldest daughter of Lloyd and Genevieve (Crockett) Kenny. Barbara graduated from the University of Colorado in Nursing. Following graduation she enjoyed her nursing career at Rush St. Luke’s in Chicago. She married Edward Oppasser and started their family in Des Plaines, IL in 1960, as the family grew, moved to Palatine, IL in 1967 where they resided for 50 years. The family also resided in Lac Du Flambeau, WI since 1998, where Barbara loved spending the summers and eventually year round residence enjoying family and friend’s visits, playing games, cards, cooking, her extensive gardening, knitting, fishing and spending time on the lake. She loved everybody coming to see her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband Edward Oppasser, and son-in-law David Lundeen. Survivors include her sister Carole Zombo, children: Donna and Rory Lent, Nancy Oppasser, Steven and Christine Oppasser, Susan Lundeen, Judy Oppasser, Lois Sheahen, Sandra and Dennis Mott, Linda and Shad Grothe and Carol Edwards; 17 Grandchildren- Karen Circello, Derek, Jestina, Ryan and Joshua Lent, Amy and Stephan Hulfeld, Dale and Genevieve Oppasser, Brandy and Dalton Lundeen, Ciara and Conor Sheahen, Nicholas, Jack and Krystina Chavez and Ashley Edwards; 2 Great Grandchildren- Casey Oppasser and Juliette Hulfeld.
