Victoria M. Emetti

Victoria M. Emetti, 82 yrs. old died on Jan. 15, 2019 after a long but courageous battle with Congestive Heart Failure. She was born on July 30th, 1936 to Rina & Bruno Emetti. She was raised in Cicero, Illinois with her beloved brother and sister. She married the love of her life, Gene Waszak, from Berwyn, Illinois. They devoted their time and efforts to raising their family in the Chicago area. Victoria purchased property in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin in the 70’s after a brief visit with her family and friends. This began a love affair with the area that would last until the day she died. She and her husband acquired a fishing resort in the town of Boulder Junction and worked together for decades to provide a wonderful vacation spot for vacationers. Years later, Victoria earned her Nursing Degree at Gogebic Community College, in Michigan. This lead to a very rewarding career as a devoted Nurse at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff, Wisconsin. Although she had several interesting part-time jobs throughout her lifetime, this one, and the people she worked with, held a very special place in her heart. She often would refer to the hospital as her “second home”. At this time, she also became a member of Holy Family Church. A kind and loving place to worship her Catholic heritage. I believe she was delighted to have found her true place to enjoy her life. Victoria had several hobbies over her lifetime. She started every day with a cup of coffee in hand, followed by taking pleasure in gardening, shopping, knitting, interior design, and spending time with her small dogs. I believe her greatest treasure was spending time with her wonderful family and friends. She was so blessed to have relationships with her children, grand-children, and great grand-children. Near or far she tried to maintain some contact despite her failing health. She rarely missed a morning “hello” with her dear friend’s at local coffee spots around town. She found great pleasure on her Sunday drives to Mercer, Wisconsin, where she spent afternoons with her loving daughter, son, and son-in-law. They all shared many fun filled times together. She looked forward to her Milwaukee trips to share time with her other daughter, and her four kind-hearted and adventuresome grandsons. Whom she moved in with last year and lived with until she passed on to Heaven’s Gates. They made her laugh and she made them laugh as well. She was blessed to have her beloved son and his helpful and compassionate family living in the area as well. She enjoyed attending family parties, religious ceremonies, and as of late, regular morning coffee runs to her favorite Panera Restaurant with him and family members. She so cherished time spent with her beloved brother, sister-in-law, sister, and many family members in the Chicagoland area as well. She expressed great appreciation time and again for the special occasions spent with family. Even while her health had been failing her she was determined to attend parties and picnics given by such devoted individuals. I am truly grateful for the wonderful impact you have all made on the life of our dearly departed Mom, Grammy, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, and Friend. A Funeral Mass to honor her life will be held at Holy Family Church, in Woodruff WI, on Friday, February 1st, at 11am. The visitation will be held at 10 am prior to the service on the same day. Victoria’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all family and friends that have offered their time and support especially during her illness. .
