Susan M. Aschenbrenner

Susan (Sue) M. Aschenbrenner, 76, of Sayner, WI, passed away on May 24, 2026. She was born on June 16, 1949 to the late Frank L. Schuch and the late Margaret S. Schuch (Kurey). Sue grew up in Milwaukee, WI. Sue and Jim raised their 3 children in New Berlin, WI. They moved to Sayner 11 years ago. Over the years, Sue and Jim lovingly fostered 118 foster babies. Sue had a heart of gold. She was always volunteering for all of her children's activities and was a notable scout leader. You could often find Sue baking in the kitchen and then eagerly sharing her baked goods with the world. Sue also enjoyed sewing (clothes for her grandchildren), embroidery, quilting, painting and gardening. Sue took pride in having the best well-decorated house. Another favorite hobby was vacationing with family, especially at Fort Wilderness at Disney World in their first pop-up camper. Sue and Jim bought their first pop-up camper on Sue’s birthday and was immediately surprised by Jim with the first family trip to Disney World. Sue loved making memories with friends and welcomed many as honorary family members. She always looked for a reason to have gatherings for family and friends and was the most gracious and hospitable hostess. Above all of her hobbies and busy work, you could always hear Sue cheering on her grandchildren in all of their activities and accomplishments. She loved her family dearly. Sue was a loving wife, amazing mother and proud Nana and Great-Nana. Sue is preceded in death by her brother, Paul F. Schuch. She is survived by her devoted husband, James (Jim) of 55 years, and her 3 children, Cindy (Mike) Bohme, Kim (Tom) Ignasiak and Brian Aschenbrenner, her 6 grandchildren, Amy, Jake, Alex, Kayla (Tyler), Kyle and Ryan, and her 2 great-grandchildren Lily and Kira. She is further survived by numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 9:00 - 11:00 AM on Monday, June 1, 2026 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sayner. A Funeral Mass will be said at 11:00 AM. Luncheon to follow. THE FAMILY ASKS THAT YOU PLEASE REFRAIN FROM WEARING ANY PERFUMES OR STRONG SCENTS TO ENSURE THAT THE ATMOSPHERE IS COMFORTABLE FOR THOSE IN ATTENDANCE. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Sue’s name to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sayner.
