Sarah B. Graveen

Sarah Beth Graveen, 73, was called home to her Lord and Savior on April 18, 2023 at HYMC (Aspirus Hospital, Woodruff, WI.) Sarah was born on March 27, 1950 in the Town of Lowell, Reeseville, Wisconsin to wonderful Christian parents, Amasa and Leona Clark. During her many hospital/nursing home stays, she often spoke of wonderful memories growing up on the family farm with her other 7 siblings. She was baptized at Trinity Lutheran, a beautiful country church in Reeseville. She attended St. Stephen’s Lutheran School, Beaver Dam, WI, for several years and was confirmed there. Following High School Graduation, Sarah attended Columbia County Teacher’s College at Columbus, WI where she received her K-8 Teacher’s Certificate. This led her to working in the education field in various positions including being a counselor for special needy children at Camp Byron, Byron WI, a reading specialist aide, a day care worker at East Fork Apache Mission, Whiteriver, AZ and in the many recent years being a special education aide at the Lac du Flambeau Grade School. Sarah married her soulmate and friend, Elmer Graveen, on May 2, 1975. She loved watching football and was a devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers. She enjoyed watching many other various sporting events, as well. She was a good cook and enjoyed baking and raising their children whom she loved dearly. Throughout the years she was always ready to help someone when the need arose. Sarah is preceded in death by her loving husband, Elmer; brothers Lynn (Carol) Clark and Lloyd (who died as an infant; sisters, Alene (Lee) Reinhard, Lila (Charles) Lehman, and Anna (Harold) Else. Sara is survived by her son, Lukas Amasa (Carla Schuman) Graveen, Sr.; daughter, Dawn Marie Wildcat; grandchildren; Lukas, Frank, Kayden, Coltyn and Khloe; sisters Bonnie (Edward) Hahn, Tess (Chuck) Schaller, Janice (Marvin) Borth; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Bolger Funeral Home- Woodruff on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM. A service will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Bolger Funeral Home – Woodruff followed by burial at 12:00 PM at Memorial Cemetery in Lac du Flambeau.
