Raymond C. Stejskal, Sr.

Raymond Charles Stejskal Senior, age 86, passed away on Thursday, August 25th in his St. Germain, Wisconsin home. He was surrounded by his loving wife and family. Stejskal was born on May 2nd,1930 in Brookfield, Illinois to Mary (Champlinski) and Emil Stejskal. Raymond was preceded in death by his mother in law, Anna Holzwart, father in law William Holzwart and brother George Stejskal. Devoted husband of Patricia (Holzwart), loving father of Debra (Bruce) Hodges, Cheryl (Tony) Herman, Patricia (Steven) French, and Raymond (Vicki Simpson/ Gina Stejskal) Junior; cherished grandfather of Michael and Kelly Hodges, Adam Herman and Toni (Brian) Joseph, Rachelle and Easton French, Cheyenne, Conner, and Cassidy Stejskal; great-grandfather of Skylar and Zach Herman, Sage and Juniper Moon Joseph. Brother in law to Lorraine (Joe) Fazio, Janice (Jim) Schnieder, Elden (Elise) Holzwart, Ed (Betty) Holzwart, Ray (Grace/Wanda) Holzwart and a number of wonderful nieces, nephews and dear friends. Growing up, Stejskal was an avid outdoorsman and basketball star. He was a graduate of Riverside Brookfield High School and LT Junior College. He designed and built his family home in the Chicago suburbs and it was home for 42 years. Stejskal is a veteran of the Korean War, where he earned several medals.The discipline he was taught and love for his country never left him, as friends and family can attest. He was also an active member of the Lions Club and the VFW in Illinois. Stejskal owned and operated his own business, Air Control Heating and Air Conditioning in Glen Ellyn, IL. His success in business can be directly attributed to his strong work ethic, of which he took great pride. Stejskal’s love for fishing, snowmobiling, and the outdoors led him to the beautiful Northwoods where he and his family built a cabin on Lake Little St. Germain. Stejskal retired from the business twelve years ago to permanently live in St. Germain with the best catch of his life, his wife Patricia of 64 years. A Military funeral will be held on Friday October 7, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Elwood, Illinois. Immediately following the service, a reception to celebrate his remarkable life will be held. Details to follow.
