Patricia "Pat" Miller

Patricia (Pat) Eleanor Miller (McDonough) died peacefully at the home of her daughter Jeanne Sully of Minocqua, Wisconsin on February 4, 2017. Pat is survived by her children: Bonnie (John) Margitan of Minocqua, Jeanne Sully (Mark Walker) of Minocqua, Suzanne Owens (Steve) of Greendale, WI, and Jacki Ebanks (Dayton) of Grand Cayman. She has eight grandchildren, Steve Margitan (Sonja), Kirsten Margitan (Miguel Aguirre), Chris Sully (Tom Tiffany), Tom Moe (Jess), Sue Zvers (Eriks), Rebecca Owens , Brian Owens (Jess) and Jason Biesel(Amy), and eight great-grandchildren: LaCrosse Margitan, John and Marie Aguirre, Karlyn, Lexi, and Katherine Tiffany, Kathryn and Thomas Moe. Special relatives and friends include her niece, Gayle Popken and cousin, Peg Brown and Bill and Barb Geotzelman. She is preceded in death by her husband George A. Miller, and her daughter Katherine A. Moe and son-in-law Tom Moe. Pat was born on March 17, 1923 in Milwaukee. WI to Daniel J and Stella (Drew) McDonough. Pat grew up in Oak Park, IL Her family vacationed every year at North Lure Resort in Minocqua where she met the love of her life. She married Jack Miller in August of 1940. Patricia worked many years at Northland Gardens as a florist. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church of the Pines and was an auxiliary volunteer at Lakeland Memorial Hospital and Howard Young Medical Center. She was an early hospice volunteer in the Lakeland Area. Pat was a founding member of the Minocqua Museum and served many years as a board member and docent. Her family and friends will remember her as the maker of seven layer banana cakes and sticky bottoms. Pat loved flowers, birds, chocolate, playing Canasta and spending time with her family. The family would like to thank Dr. Kate Hospice for the tender loving care they gave Pat. Memorials may be sent to HYF:Dr. Kate Hospice at P.O. Box 770, Woodruff, WI 54568 or the United Methodist Church of the Pines, P.O. Box 144, Minocqua, WI 54548. Bolger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Pat on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the United Methodist Church of the Pines in Minocqua. Visitation will be held from 9:00 – 10:00 AM, with a Memorial Service to follow. There will be an open house at the Miller Residence on 11125 Kilawee Road from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. Family and friends are welcome.
