Michael E. Martin

It is with great sadness that we must announce that Michael “Mike” E. Martin, age 69, loving brother, son, cousin, and nephew, was called home to eternal life with God on January 11, 2026. Mike was a lover of family, friends, and everything nature and wildlife. From little on and throughout his life, he had an admiration and compassion for animals. Among his many interests were bow & gun hunting, fishing, target and trap shooting, golfing (both regular, and mini), boating, and photography. He had a great knowledge of wildlife, taxidermy, small engine repair, and firearms. Camping, walking in the woods, and sitting around a great campfire with a cold one was also on his list of favorite things to do. He was always at home and happy in the outdoors. Mike was also a spiritual man, and firmly believed in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. He recently spoke of how he would read a verse from his Bible every day, and that it was important for him and everyone to do so. He deeply loved his two cats, “Smokey” and “Two-toes”. His cats were his “children” so to speak, and he loved them so very much. He loved long conversations with his brothers, whether by phone or in person. His brothers and their families meant a lot to him. Though he never married or had children, he was always genuinely interested in the lives and well-being of his brothers and put forth a great love and concern for his nieces and nephews. He was always very proud of all of them. We’ve shared so many laughs over the phone and many good times in our lifetime with him. His laugh and sense of humor will forever be warmly remembered. Mike will be painfully missed beyond what words could describe, and a great void has been left in his passing. Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Diane Marie Martin, father Richard H. Martin, and two brothers- Jeffrey J. Martin, and Kelly J. Martin. Survived by his brothers, Scott (Julie), and Shawn (Ashley); nieces, Karly (David) Steinhage, Kendra Diane, Krista (Kyle) Lamke, Richelle Martin; nephews, Joshua (Meg) Martin, Dylan Martin, Casey (Erin) Martin, Andrew Martin; and nieces Sara Martin, Abigail Martin, and Emma Martin. Further survived by his aunt, Carol Maholias; many cousins; his friend Louie; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Mike’s wishes were to be cremated, and the urn will be laid to rest this summer with parents and brother Kelly’s ashes, in a small cemetery West of Woodruff, Wisconsin. Celebration of Life will be announced to all family members and friends at a later date, and will be held in the Milwaukee /Franklin Wisconsin area. Location and time yet to be determined, but rest assured, everyone will be notified. Rest in Peace, Mike. We love you, Mike, forever. Go fishing & hunting with Dad, Kelly, and Jeff, and give a kiss to Mom for those of us still left behind. Though we lost a good man, Heaven gained a good soul.
