Laura Mae Friedrich

On the morning of August 17, 2016, Laura Mae Friedrich of St. Germian, WI surrounded by family passed away peacefully of natural cause. Laura was born August 9, 1927 in Silver Creek, NY to Raymond and Ethel (Gray) Dubert. She has three brothers, Raymond (Marjorie) Dubert, Earl (Phyllis) Dubert, Ernest (Marie) Dubert; two sisters Mary (James) Keddie and Eva Dubert. Laura met her husband, Harold Otto Friedrich of Racine, WI thru a pen pal club. She came to Chicago and became a Nanny. While there she and Harold started dating and soon were married in June 1948 in Racine. She and Harold lived in Racine, Evanston, Mount Prospect, IL then in Lake Geneva, WI where they owned a Motel/Lodge until Harold’s passing in 1978. She then bought a three flat in Oak Lawn, IL before moving to St. Germain in 1999. Laura was an avid seamstress. There wasn’t anything she could not make. She made her own wedding dress from a parachute that her future brother in law gave her. Laura has three children, JoAnn (Oscar) Yanke of St. Germian, WI; Harold (Carol) Friedrich of Riverside, CA and Lynn (Norman) Williams of Brandon, FL. She has four grandsons; Keith (Katherine) Yanke, Kirt (Kathleen) Yanke, Chad (Shawna) Friedrich, Chris (Lisa) Friedrich and one granddaughter, Michelle (Shannon) Carithers. Three great granddaughters, Hayley (Sam) Czernek, Taylor Yanke and Emily Friedrich. Three great grandsons, Austin Carithers, Cody Carithers and Jared Friedrich. One great great granddaughter Brandi Czernek and second to be coming soon-Mila Czernek. Laura also had two great granddaughters by love, Gabrielle and Mary Ann Santay. Many other children and adults who knew and loved her called her Grandma, also. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, parents, sister Mary Keddie and a brother Earl Dubert Services will be held Wednesday August 24, 2016 at 3 PM at the St. Germain Evangelical Free Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be at West Lawn Memorial Park in Racine on Friday at 11 AM. Special thanks to all who prayed, called and helped in so many ways. Thank you to Ministry Health Hospice; Wendy, Sandy, Barb, Jane and Jerry-we thank God for you! Thanks also to Keesha who cared for Laura so her family could get a short break. Memorials are suggested to Samaritans Purse in Lieu of flowers.
