Katherine Lee Lonsdale January 8, 1948 – August 24, 2024 Katherine Lee Lonsdale, 76, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 8, 1948, in Shawano, Wisconsin Kathy lived a life defined by her unwavering faith, her generosity, and her deep love for those around her. Kathy was the beloved wife of Tom Lonsdale and a devoted mother to her three sons, Tom, Jeff, and Pat Lonsdale. She was a proud grandmother to Thomas, Brooke, Levi, Asher, Benjamin, Hudson, Kane, and Locke Lonsdale, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy. Kathy was also a cherished mother-in-law to Heather, Leslie, and Ellen Lonsdale, and a dear sister to Mar Arvold, Pat Nyman, and Dave Arvold. Her extended family and close friends were among the many who were touched by her warmth and kindness. Kathy found her calling as a school nurse, where her caring nature and ability to connect with everyone she met left a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues. Her career was a testament to her lifelong dedication to serving others, a commitment that was evident in every aspect of her life. Her generosity was legendary—whether she was baking, knitting, or simply offering a listening ear to her family and friends or even the garbage collector, Walmart greeter, or people in the doctor’s office, Kathy made sure that those around her felt loved and cared for. She had a zest for life that was contagious, and she never knew a stranger. Kathy’s vibrant spirit and infectious energy brought light to all who were fortunate enough to know her. Despite facing her own struggles, Kathy never lost her faith or her determination to overcome adversity. Her journey was one of resilience and hope, and she showed those around her what it meant to persevere. Her life was a testament to the power of faith, and she often spoke of the strength that her belief in God gave her, especially during the most challenging times. Kathy will be remembered as a beautiful soul—a woman who gave everything of herself, sometimes to her own detriment, in her quest to please others. She was a model of service, a beacon of generosity, and a woman of strong faith. Though she was a tortured soul at times, Kathy’s unwavering resolve to fight her battles and her never-ending love for her family and friends will remain her enduring legacy. A memorial service will be held on September 1, 2024 at Yawkey Lake where family and friends will gather to celebrate Kathy’s life and the many ways she touched their hearts.
