Germaine "Gerri" K. Chapman

Germaine "Gerri" K. Chapman, 65, of Lac du Flambeau, passed away on March 12th, 2016, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, in Appleton, Wisconsin, after a brief illness. She was born on March 2nd, 1951, in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late James M. St. Germaine, Sr., and Lila B (Philoman) St. Germaine. She married James F. Chapman, Jr. on March 10th, 1969, and they were happily married for 47 years. They had three children, James F Chapman III, Michelle (John) Young and Lynn Chapman. Gerri worked for the LdF Tribe for 28 years. She also served on several tribal committees. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, pow wows, and attending numerous sports and dance-related activities of her grandchildren. Gerri was a wonderful cook and took immense pleasure in cooking for her family and friends, as well as hosting holiday celebrations. Gerri was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lila St. Germaine, her brother, James (Jim Toy) St. Germaine Jr., and her father and mother-in-law, James and Violet Chapman. Gerri was survived by her husband Jim, and their children, James, Michelle (John) and Lynn. She was further survived by sisters, Koosie St. Germaine, Fern St. Germaine (Pat Bearstail,Sr.), Audrey St. Germaine, Carol (Paul) Hill, and brothers, Wendell (Rochelle Conto) St. Germaine, Robert St. Germaine, and Wayne St. Germaine. She was the beloved grandmother of James (Dasha) IV, Jennifer, Justin, Joseph and Jayden Chapman, Ryan, Jared (Shawny), Desmond, Thalia, and Taryn Young, Zachary Jr., and Kailia Sunn, and Derik Chapman, and beloved Great-grandmother to James Chapman V and Jillian Young. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Adrienne Laverdure, Dr. Jerry Goldberg in Marshfield, and Dr. Brad Lauderdale and nursing staff at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Appleton. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 18th, at the Multi-Purpose Building in Lac du Flambeau, at 3:00P.M. for family, and starting at 4:00P.M. for friends of the family. A Prayer Service will take place at 7:00P.M. Funeral services will be held at 11:00A.M. on Saturday, March 19th, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Lac du Flambeau, followed by interment at Memorial Cemetery.
