David L Gammon

David L. Gammon, 83 of Woodruff, Wisconsin quietly left his earthly body on Oct.11, 2015 surrounded by his four daughters @ the Bland Bekkedahl Hospice in Viroqua, WI. He came into this world on October 29, 1931- born to Abner J. Gammon and LaVerne M. (Robertson) and was raised in the small farming community of Kendall, WI. Dad started his teaching career at the age of 19 upon completion of his teaching certificate at Monroe County Normal. After just one year of teaching, he enlisted in the Air Force and was deployed during the Korean War. Upon his return from Korea, he finished his teaching degree @ the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse and met the love of his life- Gayle A. Moulton. They were married on August 25th, 1959 and spent 52 years together raising a family in the beautiful woods of northern Wisconsin. Dad was a teacher at Lakeland Union High School in Minocqua, WI until his retirement. He is survived by his 4 daughters; Lori Lee Gammon of Madison, WI., Lisa Gay (Bruce) Olson of Coon Valley, Lynn Ann (Matt) Gammon-Bakalars of Oshkosh, WI & Lana Rae Gammon (Todd)Buchner of Holmen, WI. One brother, Dr. James Gammon; two sisters, Barb LeVigne and Carol Hamburg and their spouses. Grandchildren, David T. (Danielle) Curti, Grant P. (Anna) Olson, Kyle J. (girlfriend Keli) Olson, Jay A. Olson, Elizabeth A.G. Buchner & Samuel J. G. Buchner. He was proceeded in death by his Parents; his beloved wife, Gayle; an unborn son Lonn Leonard and many other treasured family and friends who have watched him from above and have waited patiently for his arrival. Dad was truly a gift from God to his family and friends and the world is indeed a better place because of the way he lived his life. We are not Human Beings on a Spiritual Journey, but Spiritual Beings on a Human Journey. We will miss you everyday of our lives and will try our best to follow in your footsteps, knowing they are big shoes to fill. You may be gone from our sight but never from our hearts. Kiss our beloved mom, hug your Mom and Dad, meet your son and go fishing with Roger. We know where you are when we need you! The family is requesting no flowers be sent to the funeral home.
