Danny C. Steg

Danny Carl Steg, was called home to his Father in Heaven on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at his residence in Arbor Vitae Wisconsin. Danny was born on January 15, 1958 at Memorial Hospital in Wausau WI, the son of Jerry and Beverly Steg. After the passing of his mother Beverly, Jerry married Marceda (Steg) who raised and cared for Danny as his mother. Danny graduated from Lakeland Union High School, Minocqua in 1977. While in school and years after Danny worked as a cook / chef at many different places. He was also co-owner and operator of D&D Oasis in Manitowish Waters, WI for 25 plus years. Danny deeply loved his Lord and was active as a member at Calvary Lutheran Church and for 40 years at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boulder Junction. Danny was a beautiful singer, but loved doing what he did best; cooking for people, especially the Easter Breakfast, that was a family tradition at Church. Danny was a husband, son, brother, uncle, godfather, nephew, cousin, and most of all the most loyal friend anyone could ever have. Danny was preceeded in death by his mother and father Jerry and Beverly Steg, grandparents Carl and Laverna Steg, and Cliff and Violet Woodward, nephew, Lance Stough, aunt Gerry Paszek, and two of his best friends Dale Kroh and Michael Payne. He is survived by his wife of 29 years Tammy Steg of Arbor Vitae, mother Marceda (Don) Strasburg of Minocqua, WI, sister Debbie Stough of Boulder Junction WI, sister Julie Steg of Wausau, WI, brother Scott (Ada) Steg of Concord, NC and brother Darwin Kufahl of Merrill, WI. Danny is further survived by his mother in law Martha Walls, sister in law Robin Newhouse, both of Woodruff WI, brother in law Tim (Linda) McElrone of Greenfield WI, niece Jennifer Stough and her two children Zach and Samantha of Woodruff, as well as aunts, nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins and an uncle. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boulder Junction. Visitation will be from 9:00 – 11:00 AM with a service at 11:00 AM and a luncheon to follow. Danny you fought a hard battle and now is your time for peace. "Well done thy good and Faithful servant"
