Joan Terry – Healer The only thing that matters, at the end of a stay on earth, is how well did we love, what was the quality of our love? -Richard Bach Joan Terry, 70, of Minocqua, Wisconsin, left this earth quite suddenly and unexpectedly on April 14th, 2016 at approximately 2pm. Joan is survived by her husband, Carl Nelson, her three children: David Goldstein, Robert Goldstein and Nikki Main, and her four grandchildren: Rose Main, Liam Main, Carly Main, and Matthew Goldstein. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She is also survived by her sweet Golden Doodle, Butter. Joan was born and raised in New York City. She was called to help heal hearts in her 30’s, and went back to school to obtain her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Counseling while her kids were still growing up. She began a psychotherapy business in the 80’s, and has poured her heart into this work ever since then. She spent 13 years in the Northwoods as a mental health crisis screener, bringing her healing touch to so many hurting people in this community. She is well known in the Chicago area and in the Northwoods as a skilled, compassionate and loving Psychotherapist. She married her husband, Carl, on June 6th of 1992, and their devotion and love for each other served as an inspiration to us all. Joan was a talented artist, and created so many beautiful works of art. She also loved finding and collecting rare and beautiful Native American works of art. She had a great ebay business that simply invigorated her on a daily basis. She had a passion for natural and alternative healing arts. This, too, was a source of invigoration to her and those around her. She loved her dogs so much and they were her children, too. Joan’s mission in her work and in her life was to heal her own heart and the hearts of all of those around her. Her unrelenting insistence that we can each heal and grow and that we each deserve to heal and grow, has been a cornerstone in the lives of all of those close to her. She was truly an angel in our lives and her legacy of unconditional love reverberates around us. A visitation will be held from 3:00 - 6:00 PM on Monday, April 18, 2016 at Bolger Funeral Home - Minocqua Chapel, followed by cremation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Joan's name to the ASPCA.
